Ste Marie Gives the Monos Vancouver Office a “Residential Quality”

Canadian interiors studio Ste Marie has designed the Vancouver headquarters of luggage brand Monos in the Mount Pleasant neighbourhood, emphasising simplicity and shifting mood throughout the day. The office reflects the brand’s development to date and provides space for continued growth.

The Moonza view

A “residential” feeling is one of the strong directions in office design today. An office that feels slightly like home is more pleasant for staff and guests. It comes more from material, light and soft furniture than from decoration, the same simplicity this project stresses.

The second point is leaving room for growth. For a growing company, a layout that stops working next month is costly. Modular furniture and movable partitions help an office grow with its team without renovation.

  • Create a soft, home-like seating area in part of the office
  • Make lighting adjustable so the mood can shift during the day
  • Choose furniture that can expand as the team grows
