The Moonza view

Converting abandoned buildings into guest accommodation is a growing trend, seen in eco-lodges and heritage hotels. The main challenge is taking a space from ruin to home, which is above all the work of furniture, fabric and light.

Tactile materials such as raw timber, wool and linen, ceramics and stone feel warm and hospitable. In guest rooms, a good bed, a comfortable chair by the window and a small desk shape the experience. Working with local artists and makers adds authenticity.

  • Give every guest room a comfortable chair and a small desk
  • Natural fabrics and raw timber feel warm and authentic
  • Use local craftsmanship in the details
