Dynaudio’s Copenhagen Showroom Pairs Unfolded Speaker Forms With Karimoku Timber
Norm Architects has designed speaker brand Dynaudio’s new showroom in Copenhagen to resemble speaker components unfolded, using wood, aluminium and artworks made from reused textiles, and filling it with wooden furniture by Japanese manufacturer Karimoku.

The Moonza view
Japandi, the blend of Japanese simplicity and Scandinavian warmth, is clear here: light timber, simple forms, plenty of empty space and nothing superfluous. The style suits showrooms because it keeps the product at the centre of attention.
For modern offices and meeting rooms, Japandi is a calm, professional choice. A light timber conference table, simple chairs in neutral fabric and uncluttered walls support focus. The key to the style is build quality; when everything is simple, every flaw shows.
- For a calm meeting room, choose a light timber table and neutral fabric chairs
- Treat empty space as part of the design, not a shortfall
- In minimal schemes, build quality is the main criterion
