Custom Furniture Created for the Azteca Stadium’s Interior Revamp
A group of Mexican designers, including CUAIK | CDS, Luis Huerta and Estudio Ignacio, has showcased a custom furniture collection created as part of an overhaul of the interiors at Mexico City’s Azteca Stadium, one of the venues for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Moonza view
Commissioning furniture for a major project from local designers has two outcomes: national identity shows in the space and the domestic furniture industry grows. In a project as large as a World Cup stadium, the decision sends a clear message about local manufacturing quality.
For large projects such as stadiums, conference halls, hotels and office buildings, locally made custom furniture is a serious option: design fitted to the space, easier coordination and nearby after-sales service. In high-traffic areas such as lounges and VIP boxes, durability of upholstery and frame is the key criterion.
- For large projects, seriously consider locally made custom furniture
- In high-traffic areas, prioritise durable upholstery and frames
- Ask about after-sales service and spare parts before signing
