Arthouse Glasgow Celebrates the City’s Industrial Heritage With Raw Materials
Interior architecture studio A-nrd, headed by Alessio Nardi and Lukas Persakovas, has transformed a 19th-century Glasgow townhouse into a hotel with a raw, honest material palette that celebrates the Scottish city’s industrial heritage.

The Moonza view
Raw materials such as exposed brick, unpainted metal or visible concrete feel honest and authentic and connect with a place’s identity. But a fully raw space can feel cold and uncomfortable, and that is where furniture brings balance.
In industrial or loft-style offices, metal-and-timber desks with upholstered chairs, warm fabric sofas and yellow light make a space characterful and comfortable. Timber and fabric soften the hardness of concrete and steel.
- In industrial spaces, add upholstered and fabric furniture for warmth
- Metal-and-timber desks suit the loft style
- Warm light makes raw walls more inviting
