A London Pizzeria Uses Rounded Corners and Curved Built-In Seating
Spanish designer Isern Serra has used rounded corners and curved built-in furniture to create a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere inside Napoli on the Road, a pizza restaurant in London’s Soho, drawing on Mediterranean vernacular architecture.

The Moonza view
Built-in benches and banquettes that hug the walls and become part of the architecture save space in restaurants and cafés while creating intimacy. Rounded corners make a space feel softer and friendlier.
The idea is very practical for office pantries and canteens: a continuous curved bench along a wall, a few round tables and light chairs opposite. Capacity rises and the space loses its canteen feel. Warm Mediterranean tones such as cream and terracotta complete the mood.
- A continuous wall bench increases café or pantry capacity
- Round tables beside a curved bench soften the layout
- Warm cream and terracotta tones feel Mediterranean and welcoming
