Notion’s San Francisco Office Blends Craftsman Detailing With Minimal Tech
US studio IA has designed the San Francisco headquarters of AI company Notion, combining Craftsman-style detailing and a minimalist technical look with the details of a historic building.
The Moonza view
Craftsman style is known for natural timber, careful handwork and honest, simple details. A tech company choosing it for an office shows modern workplaces moving away from cold glass and metal towards warmth and authenticity.
Modern workstations and ergonomic chairs can be combined with natural timber, simple shelving and warm light. The result is an office people enjoy spending time in, not one that feels like a factory.
- Natural timber desktops warm up a technical office
- Balance modern ergonomic chairs with warm surrounding materials
- Keep and highlight the building’s original details
