Edition Denmark in Seoul Pairs Vintage Danish Furniture With a Homely Feel

Copenhagen studio Spacon has designed a 50-square-metre showroom and café in Seoul for Edition Denmark, a South Korean brand selling Danish products. The space is filled with vintage Danish furniture and found objects to evoke the layered feeling of a home.

The Moonza view

When a showroom looks like a warehouse, customers simply compare prices; when it feels like a home, they picture themselves in it. By combining furniture, objects and a café, this project turns shopping into time well spent.

The idea suits furniture showrooms, corporate lobbies and hospitality areas too: instead of lining up chairs, build a few scenes such as a lounge corner, a work desk and a dining table. Scandinavian style, with light timber, simple lines and natural fabrics, remains one of the most popular languages for calm spaces.

  • Show furniture in complete scenes rather than rows
  • One or two vintage or handmade pieces add authenticity
  • Light timber and natural fabric make small spaces feel calm and larger
