A Room-by-Room Guide to Layered Lighting for Autumn
Design Milk shares a room-by-room layered lighting guide from Govee for autumn, with ideas ranging from cozy bedroom lighting to focused office illumination.

The Moonza view
Layered lighting means using several light sources with different jobs instead of relying on one ceiling light. It is especially useful in an office, since desk work, meetings and breaks each call for different light.
Many offices have only uniform overhead lighting. Adding a task lamp on the desk and softer light in a seating corner changes the feel of a room without major work. In office design, lighting is best planned alongside the furniture layout, not after it.
- Provide separate focused light for each desk
- Use warmer, softer light in seating and waiting corners
- Decide light positions together with the furniture layout
