A New York Cocktail Room Built Almost Entirely From USM Modules
Restaurateur Josh Greenspan and furniture company USM have created VV’s Cocktail Room in Manhattan, a small space wrapped almost entirely in Steel Blue USM Haller modular shelving and informed by Greenspan’s visits to Japan and Hong Kong.

The Moonza view
Modular shelving and storage are usually associated with offices and archives, but this project shows the same systems can become the decor itself. When one material and one colour wrap every surface, the space feels unified and memorable.
The main advantage of modular furniture for companies is flexibility: as a team grows or a layout changes, pieces can be moved, removed or added without buying everything again. Modular shelving can be storage, a space divider and a display for products or awards in the lobby.
- Use modular shelving as a space divider too
- A signature colour for the storage system builds visual identity
- Buy a system that can be expanded later
