Simone: A Copenhagen Bookstore with Many Uses
Simone is a bookstore in Copenhagen that doubles as a gallery, event space or listening room. Custom-designed furniture by Derya Arpac, Lærke Ryom, Kasper Kyster and Daniel Schofield sets the scene.

The Moonza view
What stands out in this project is one space doing several jobs, made possible by its furniture. The same thinking helps in offices: a room that hosts meetings, presentations and small events gets more from every square metre.
Where office space is costly, a room used only a few hours a week is expensive. Light, movable chairs and shelving that both stores and divides allow one room to serve several purposes.
- Choose light, movable chairs for multipurpose rooms
- Use shelving and bookcases to divide space as well
- Sketch the room’s different layouts before buying
