A Hollywood Hills Home Furnished With Icons From Frank Gehry to Ingo Maurer
Los Angeles studio Ome Dezin has partnered with design platform Lumens to renovate and furnish a 1990s home in the Hollywood Hills, adding iconic furniture and lighting by Frank Gehry, Ingo Maurer and others. The house sits within a mature forest.

The Moonza view
Statement furniture and lighting, often called iconic pieces, can turn an ordinary space into a memorable one. The point is not to fill the whole space with them; one or two signature pieces beside simple, well-made furniture are enough.
In an executive office or company lobby, a special chair, a sculptural pendant or a distinctive sofa can become the signature of the space. The rest should stay calm and coordinated so that piece stands out. When choosing a light, mind its scale; a small fixture gets lost under a high ceiling.
- Choose one or two statement pieces and keep the rest simple
- Size pendants to the ceiling height and table
- Place the statement piece where the first glance falls
